Arrived El Calafate in time for lunch on New Years Eve.... paid extra to get an upgrade to a private en suite instead of a hostel bed and headed out to the town. Got cash and found a fantastic pizza pub for lunch. Was initially tempted in by Kolsh beer but unfortunately wasn´t the same as in Cologne.... however was very nice though and the salads and pizza were fantastic.. had a lamb one.
A little shopping then back for a siesta before the party. We all had a great meal in the restaurant at the hostel.. there was another overland group staying so it was quite a party. Huge Argentinian steaks and plenty to drink.
A little worse for wear on New Years day, but we had a great time on a bus - walk - boat - bus tour of the Moreno glacier.
Sorry having trouble posting pictures as internet so slow here....
Onto Torres del Paine today.
